Job Overview:
The Assistant Corporate Controller is responsible for providing consistent leadership and support in the financial area by supplying the accounting staff with guidance and training. They are also responsible for focusing on the business's profitability, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels of internal control, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguarding owners'/investors' assets.
Report to Corporate Director of Finance (Corporate DOF)
Responsibilities:
· Assist Corporate DOF in the timely preparation of monthly financial statements for the properties and Corporate legal entities.
· Monitor and advise hotel operations, cash flow, and operating forecasts for the
properties.
· Under the guidance of Corporate DOF, maintain timely interaction with Department
Heads to ensure that property operations are always on track and under control.
· Prepare financial statements and monthly reconciliations for corporate legal entities
and hotels.
· Foster compliance with Millennium Accounting Policies and Procedures and internal
controls for our finance and accounting operations
· Manage and communicate issues related to managing receivables, payables,
daily cash balances, and timely deposits of all funds.
· Monitor hotel revenues and expenses and ensure accurate recording by
Millennium Hotel's established guidelines. Investigate and critique variances from
budget/forecast or prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to
management.
· Analyze financial data and operations to achieve financial objectives.
· Train, supervise, and develop hotel and corporate staff by coaching, counseling, and
disciplining.
· Assist with year-end external audit and internal audit.
· Other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
