    We are seeking candidates for a full time position as a 911 emergency dispatcher. Experience in emergency dispatching a plus but not a requirement. You'll join a team of dedicated professionals providing E-911 services to all of Muskogee County, providing dispatch for police and fire services.

    Requirements:

    You must be 18, have good computer skills and ability to multitask.

    You must not have any felony or severe misdemeanor convictions

    Must have vision sufficient to see and read computer screens

    Ability to hear and answer telephones and radios and speak clearly

    Manual dexterity to operate computers, mouse, keyboards, telephone

    Must have good typing skills

    Valid driver's license

    Ability to sit for long periods of time

    Must be able to perform shift work, work hours may vary

    Able to work in a highly stressful environment

    Although you will be assigned a regular shift and days off, you must be available to work any day, any shift, including overtime. These positions work 12 hour shifts including weekends and holidays.

    As a dispatcher, you will be responsible to answer emergency and non-emergency calls for the city and county and gather the information needed. Calls are dispatched to the appropriate multiple agencies in law enforcement and fire departments. Dispatchers are responsible for getting the callers the assistance they need in an efficient, timely, and professional manner all the while maintaining the safety of all first responders in the field. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and able to multi task.

    The job is stressful at times, but dispatchers are trained professionals with impressive skill sets.
