Ergon - West Virginia, Inc. in Newell, WV currently has an opening for a Procurement Specialist
This position is responsible for soliciting competitive bids for products and services, contract negotiations for materials, vendor selection and conserving company resources and monitoring material costs.

Procurement Specialist Responsibilities:
- Develops, oversees, and implements purchasing strategies for raw materials and supplies.
- Ensures materials are provided to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing.
- Maintains good vendor relationships with understanding of supply chain dynamics and motivations.
- Negotiates supply - purchase agreements including pricing, volumes, and terms.
- Ensures purchasing is conducted in accordance with Ergons policies for ethical conduct.
- Collaborates with Operations to define current and future inventory requirements, ensure proper management of inventory levels, and to balance purchasing with production planning and logistical support.
- Designs processes to analyze data and increase responsiveness to rapidly changing material demand of variable byproduct feedstocks and raw materials.
- Maintains safe working habits and a "safety first" attitude.
- Exemplify the utmost professional, moral, ethical, and safe work habits at all times.
- Other duties and responsibilities as designated by Vice President of Technology & Business Development
Procurement Specialist Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- B.S. Degree in a Chemical Technology Field or Supply Chain Management desirable
- Five years process experience within chemical processing or supply chain management desirable
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation abilities.
- Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
- Interpersonal skills including teamwork and communication.
- Time management and organizational skill.
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with both internal and external personnel.
