Position Summary: The Lead Commercial Installer is responsible for overseeing and executing the installation of commercial equipment and systems according to specifications and industry standards. This role involves leading a team of installers, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring that installations are completed efficiently, safely, and to the satisfaction of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements, timelines, and objectives.
- Plan and coordinate installation activities, including scheduling manpower, equipment, and materials.
2. Team Leadership:
- Lead and supervise a team of commercial installers, providing guidance and support throughout the installation process.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring that each team member understands their responsibilities and performs them efficiently.
3. Installation Execution:
- Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and identify any potential challenges.
- Perform installations of commercial equipment and systems, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems.
- Ensure that installations comply with building codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the installation process.
4. Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality checks to ensure that installations meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Address any deficiencies or discrepancies promptly, making necessary adjustments to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including equipment specifications, work completed, and any deviations from the original plan.
- Provide regular progress reports to project managers, highlighting achievements, challenges, and upcoming milestones.
6. Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards related to commercial installations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address any safety concerns promptly.
7. Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with clients to address any questions or concerns regarding the installation process.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that clients are satisfied with the quality of work and the overall experience.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in commercial installation, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of commercial equipment and systems.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional technical training or certification in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) preferred.
- OSHA certification or other relevant safety training preferred.
