What you bring to the table
- Meter Expertise: Proficient in programming, testing, and troubleshooting all types of electric meters.
- Installation Skills: Capable of installing electric meters, conducting inspections for functionality, and identifying malfunctions, tampering, or broken components including locks and seals.
- Technical Proficiency: Adept in using computer systems to monitor and maintain watt-hour meters, power factor meters, and other electrical measuring devices with various AMI systems, databases, and software.
- Operational Knowledge: Experienced in utility meter operations, including testing and verifying accuracy, as well as identifying irregularities in self-contained and transformer-rated meters, such as current and potential transformers.
- Field Response: Required to respond to power quality calls, assessing overall electric service and metering conditions, and proficient in performing voltage and current checks with various testing equipment.
- Installation and Wiring: Perform on-site installation of current and potential transformers and associated wiring for transformer-rated services across voltage ranges of 208/120V, 480/277V, and 15kV primary metering.
- Emergency Availability: Must be available to respond to emergencies and storm conditions, identifying downed wires and utility equipment.
- Reporting: Responsible for creating and completing reports and work orders, and submitting them to the General Foreman, Customer Service, Billing, and Operations Manager as required.
