Job Description : Document Control Professional (Entry Level)

Position Type : Full Time, Office (Mon Fri, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm)

Payment Type : Hourly Wage ($17 per hour)

Job Description :

This is a position as an Entry Level Document Control Professional in a Structural Fabricator’s Drafting Room. Most of this work will be done at the Candidates desk, utilizing a desktop computer and / or hard copies of detail drawings.

Computer skills, Organization, and Attention to Detail are imperative to the daily tasks of the Candidate. The ideal Candidate would be Dedicated, Detail Oriented, Dependable, Technically Minded, and above all else Willing to Learn.

The Candidate can expect to do a variety of specialized tasks during their workday and will be trained on the job in multiple facets of the Steel Fabrication business.

Specific tasks may include but are not limited to :

• Basic Data Entry with multiple computer programs.
• Coordination / Issuance of Documents with multiple computer programs.
• Document Processing.
• Maintaining the document storage folder structure.
• Multiple Office Clerical tasks.
• Operating an HP Wide-Format plotter.
• Transcription of Technical Documents.

Physical Requirements :

Candidates should expect to spend approximately six hours per day sitting and working at a computer. The remaining time would be spent walking or standing, with occasional handling of rolls of structural drawings or boxes of paper.

The Candidate may also be required to enter the shop from time to time.

Job Prerequisites :

It is preferred for Candidates to have a Two-year College or Technical degree, specifically in Architectural / Civil / Structural Engineering or Drafting & Design Technology, but not required.

They must have basic experience with Computers and be able to learn multiple software platforms. They should have a basic understanding of basic math.

They must have the ability to read and understand Technical documents / drawings. They must be extremely focused, detail oriented, and willing to learn and perform a variety of tasks, including tasks which may fall outside their normal scope of work.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to) : $17.00 - $17.00
