Distribution Manager manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. Being a Distribution Manager utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues. Additionally, Distribution Manager ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Distribution Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Distribution Management is seeking an experienced and innovative Operations Safety and Security Manager to support our mission of providing a safe, secure, and efficient workplace. In this position, you will develop and lead DM’s Safety and Security programs while coordinating and implementing them across the distribution center network. The OSS Manager will be responsible for partnering with local and national vendors as well as DM leadership teams to execute company OSS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local, regional and federal regulations. This individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe working environment for our associates. The OSS Manager must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with local leadership teams and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and OSS data analysis.


    Summary

    Reporting to the VP Distribution Centers, the Operations Safety & Security Manager’s responsibilities include:


    Possess a thorough understanding of local/regional and federal regulations and company policy.

    Develop, lead and oversee compliance to all applicable DM OSS Policies.

    Measure site level and network performance against published requirements in OSS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies. Drive accountability for the plan.

    Lead compliance efforts and record keeping for Hazmat, FDA, EPA and OSHA regulations.

    Analyze OSS metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the OSS risk is highest.

    Own relationships for third party safety vendors and security monitoring services.

    demonstrates your knowledge in physical security assessments, application, design, and integration of physical security systems, and implementation of security measures.

    Perform frequent site and network OSS audits to identify all non-compliant equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at sites. Review all changes to ensure new equipment and process are compliant.

    Lead network 5S programs ensuring implementation of initiatives and adherence to organization standards.

    Maintain and audit recordkeeping practices to ensure compliance to DM OSS standards and regulations.

    Audit the workplace organization and operations associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent.

    Ensure site leadership and operations associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of all required OSS training.

    Must be able to work flexible shifts periodically and travel up to 25% of the time.


    Experience

    • 5 years of increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations, or relevant experience applicable to the role.
    • 5 years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management.
    • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
    • CPR/First Aid Certification.
    • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
    • Professional oral and written communication skills
    • Detail-oriented motivated individual with analytical and quantitative analysis skills
    • Advanced Excel and Database/Pivot table skills
