Being a Dispatcher records driver assignments, delivery time, and other transportation data in a computer database to track metrics. Ensures drivers are compliant with all DOT, state, local, and company regulations. Additionally, Dispatcher requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. This position reports to the Gateway Manager and is responsible for scheduling trips for freight deliveries, including scheduling drivers and routes. This position serves as a central contact point for both truck drivers and customers, coordinating the shipping process. In this fast-paced job, Truck Dispatchers are responsible for multiple trucks, customers, drivers, and routes, which requires extreme attention to detail. They also monitor trucks and drivers once they’re enroute, and they help if an issue arises with a pickup or delivery. This role requires a mix of leadership and decision making to help the business identify client and customer demands and work with a team of professionals to meet those demands. Candidate must be effective communicators and good leaders. Multitasking is essential as people in this position need to keep track of people and vehicles.

This position qualifies for the Loyalty Incentive Program bonus paid out quarterly in the amount of $2 per hour worked not including PTO or holiday pay.
The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds. Moving items over fifty pounds will be done using team lift. Must meet physical lifting requirements of 50 lbs.
