Corporate Giving Director identifies and assesses the causes and organizations that align with the company's values and goals and implements strategic plans to support them. Establishes and maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations and community leaders to ensure effective collaboration and support of giving initiatives. Being a Corporate Giving Director manages the budget for charitable giving, evaluates grant proposals, and monitors the impact of the company's charitable contributions. Develops employee volunteer programs to engage employees, offer participation to wider audience, and raise awareness about the organization's charitable initiatives. Additionally, Corporate Giving Director maintains current knowledge of best practices in corporate giving and philanthropy. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Giving Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Corporate Giving Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Advancement, the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations is responsible for creating, cultivating, and stewarding corporate and foundation relationships to secure and increase revenue in support of priorities identified in the comprehensive campaign. Working alongside university advancement directors of development, prospect research, deans, department chairs, and other faculty and campus partners, this director will be responsible to strategically identify and engage potential corporate and foundation partners, develop compelling proposals, and manage ongoing relationships to foster long-term partnerships.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with appropriate faculty and other academic personnel, as well as advancement partners, to prepare clear and concise proposals and related materials as needed to secure revenue in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Steward donors and partners through facilitation of accurate, timely impact reporting on use of funds and providing timely and consistent follow-up to requests for information and answers to inquiries, thereby ensuring the highest quality of donor experience.
    • Engage with research team to identify funding opportunities from corporations and foundations that align with the strategic direction of the University and the priorities of the comprehensive campaign
    • Meet key performance metrics set during the annual metric-driven goal setting process, including visits, proposals, solicitations, qualifications, and dollars raised. Document contact reports in SUU's database system and create an annual work plan that includes a calendar for application and reporting deadlines
    • Participate in other duties and activities of a fast-paced donor-centric advancement team including annual giving, donor pipeline development, and stewardship events.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated initiative and experience in relationship building with donors, prospective donors, and campus partners.
    2. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, including expertise in formal proposal and grant writing
    3. Expert knowledge of the principles, practices, and ethics of successful fundraising particularly in the area of of corporate and foundation relations
    4. the ability to represent the University with a high degree of professionalism and integrity
    5. ability and desire to work effectively in a small team environment
    6. knowledge of constituent relationship management databases (Raiser's Edge), Microsoft office, Google Suite, and other campus software

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree- required
    • Master's degree- preferred

    Preferred Qualifications

    1. experience in higher education fundraising
    2. previous corporate and foundation fundraising experience
    3. familiarity with Southern Utah University
