    Purpose of Job:

    Promotes health and wellness within our communities by ensuring organizational corporate compliance in alignment with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for organization’s corporate compliance program including audits to monitor, detect, train, and report.
    • Schedules, participates in, and maintains tracking of audits, such as: billing and coding, sliding fee, EHR/chart access, 340B, employee and vendor exclusion checks, credentialing, chart reviews, and procurement, to detect existing or potential areas of noncompliance.
    • Ensures compliance with state and federal healthcare laws, such as Stark, Anti-kickback, Conflict of Interest, Fraud/Waste/Abuse.
    • Maintains organization’s policy and procedures database and ensure all procedures are reviewed and updated according to a set schedule and that all employees have access to current procedures.
    • Oversees patient privacy and consent to treat forms as well as clinic signage required to meet compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Serves as HIPAA Privacy Officer ensuring compliance with all HIPAA privacy requirements, tracks and reports HIPAA violations, and provides HIPAA technical assistance and training for staff.
    • Conducts investigations, documents Corrective Action Plans, and ensures appropriate employee training on compliance issues.
    • Provides compliance updates and training to the Board of Directors.
    • Responsible for all contract and business document management, including all documents required to operate the business and oversight and enforcement of document retention procedures.
    • Provides regular reports to Leadership on auditing and monitoring activities and prepares analysis of relevant regulatory changes and corresponding organizational impact.
    • Maintains a working knowledge of Section 330 regulations and HRSA community health center program requirements.
    • Oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of all activities related to the Operational Site Visit (OSV) preparation to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.  (Including annual OSV mock audit)
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Travel may be required.

     

    Qualifications


    Qualifications:

    Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree required. Compliance, privacy and/or risk management experience required. Healthcare experience preferred.

    Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to write clear, concise reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team structure. Excellent organization and follow-up skills required. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required. Knowledge of federal and state government regulatory, ethics and compliance-related issues required.

    Physical Demands:

    Required to stand, sit and be mobile 1/3rd to 2/3rds of the time. Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel over 2/3rds of the time, while reaching with hands and arms occurs 1/3rd of the day. Climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching occurs less than 1/3rd of the time. Communicating occurs constantly throughout the day. Lifting occurs about half the time up to 10 lbs. and less than 1/3rd of the day from 25-40 lbs. Rarely is there a need to lift more than 41 lbs.
