Control & Instrument Engineer designs, installs, optimizes, and adapts electronic control systems and instruments to automate and monitor industrial processes. Develops technical designs, process diagrams, SCADA block diagrams, and control schematics to implement automation controls. Being a Control & Instrument Engineer configures systems using PLC and HMI techniques. Models, tests, and measures output and data to analyze performance or quality issues and develop solutions. Additionally, Control & Instrument Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Control & Instrument Engineer work is closely managed.   • Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek a to work on a Project Instrument Control Engineer an initial 12-month contract in Port Arthur, TX possibly to be extended!

    • Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) to detailed engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup.
    • Develop and review Instrument Datasheets (IDS), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Loop Diagrams.
    • Specify, select, and requisition instrumentation based on process requirements, safety considerations, and industry standards.
    • Perform control loop design and tuning to ensure optimal process performance.
    • Conduct technical reviews of instrument and control system designs prepared by vendors or contractors.
    • Support the development and implementation of instrument maintenance plans.
    • Participate in project meetings, providing technical expertise and ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders.

    Manage project documentation and ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements
