Job Summary
Responsible for leading the strategic direction, program development and financial management of Continuing Education business units including Continuing Education (CE), Environmental Training Institute ( ETI ), Health Career Institute ( HCI ), and Youth programming including Kids and Teens University and High School Academies.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with (ten) 10 years of experience in the Adult Education Training and program management.
- Ten (10) years of management and supervisory experience.
- Master’s degree in a related field with five (5) years’ experience in a University leadership capacity including managing staffing, budgets, and external contract negotiations.
- Responsible for the research, marketing, development, and delivery of instructor-led and web-based curriculum with a focus on instructional excellence.
- Consults with University departments, external clients, professional organizations, and management to assess training trends and needs, research a variety of information sources to develop new programs, and tailor existing programs to meet market needs and requirements.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive strategic and operational plan for the development and delivery of innovative CE, ETI , HCI and Youth programs.
- Establish short and long-term goals and objectives for these CE programs to evolve and grow.
- Monitor and evaluate training programs and instructor performance, identify areas for improvement, ensure quality and effectiveness; recommend improvements.
- Establish and manage relationships with affiliate organizations and seek new marketing opportunities to enhance the strategic positioning of new and developing programs in local, state, and national markets.
- Pursue funding and develop strategic partnerships with University Departments, business, and national and community organizations, and develop and lead the negotiations for solicited contracts.
- Determine profit margins, establish, and analyze budgets to ensure fiscal viability of the CE programs.
- Negotiate and manage training and service contracts, bid solicitations and curriculum development contracts.
- Establish and manage staffing plans to meet the educational initiatives and hiring strategies to ensure market success to include assessments of current and forecasted essential functions and aligning current staff duties with evolving program goals.
