Tactical Software Engineering is responsible for the application of innovative submarine computer software and technologies used on submarines for shipboard equipment operation and control. Our software support teams design, develop, integrate, and test EB proprietary products to support the United States Navy Nuclear Submarine Fleet.
The Software Configuration Management (SCM) Team directly supports the efforts of Tactical Software Engineering. SCM’s role is to define, establish, and control the configuration of a system's software and technical documentation. SCM also ensures that all proposed changes to the design, function and performance requirements are brought to the project’s Configuration Control Board members, who will either approve, reject or defer a proposed change.
Implementing a Software Configuration Management Process provides:
A successful candidate will support the Project Manager in all aspects of Configuration Management to include: Configuration Management Planning, Configuration Identification, Configuration Control, Change Management, Software Build and Release Management, Configuration Status Accounting/Reporting, and Configuration Audits
Software Build and Release Management requires cursory knowledge with software and information technology systems. There will be onsite lab related work available as software builds and procedural development is part of this role. A successful candidate will need to be able to follow procedures and be comfortable working within the lab and, on rare occasions, onboard a ship to load software onto tactical hardware.
Position may require occasional travel and work in lab environments and submarines, as the organization supports US submarine-related sites.
This position offers flexibility for some WFH opportunities with onsite participation required weekly.
