Computer Operations Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective management of an organization's computer operations. Implements department policies and procedures to effectively operate and maintain computer systems and peripherals. Being a Computer Operations Manager manages the operation of information system equipment including scheduling workflow, maintenance, and capacity plans. Continuously monitors the efficacy of computer operations, backup processes, system monitors, and server availability to ensure operation goals are met. Additionally, Computer Operations Manager researches and evaluates potential equipment upgrades to improve the capabilities of computer operations. Ensures computer operations activities meet pre-established production targets and maintain operating budgets. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Computer Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Computer Operations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Operations Manager leads multiple teams and ensures the safe, compliant and reliable operation of assets, equipment and processes within a geographic area. Ensures leadership and guidance provided to team members is aligned with mission, vision and strategy. Works with assigned team members to ensure timely maintenance on assets and utilization of safe work processes and procedures. Ensures operations and maintenance activities performed by team members are in compliance with all applicable company and regulatory requirements.

    SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of the Patterson location and Sea Robin East offshore system Sets priorities to accomplish tasks and outlines processes by which staff should accomplish assigned tasks. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan. Provides input on resource planning and policy development. Manages the performance of a team of technicians and/or business support staff. Coaches staff on performance, completes employee performance evaluations and recommends pay actions. Trains staff on department processes and procedures.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Directs the operation and maintenance of pipeline and compressor station facilities in both the Gulf of Mexico and onshore locations.
    • Promote safety through actions and behaviors in support of an incident and injury-free work environment. Evaluate assets and work situations to identify safety hazards.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations (i.e. CFR 49 DOT Parts 191, 192, 195, OCC, FERC, OSHA) as well as all Energy Transfer policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that operations and maintenance activities are performed efficiently, consistently, cost effectively and in accordance with company goals.
    • Monitor compliance tracking systems, assignments, schedules, etc., adjusting assignments and priorities as needed.
    • Responsible for the hiring, develop/training and performance of all employees within a geographic area. Conducts performance reviews on all team members.
    • Assist with the development and management of annual maintenance and capital budgets.
    • Member of the Offshore Spill Response team.

    Minimum Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
    • 8 years directly related experience
    • Valid State Driver's License.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    •  Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
    • Extensive knowledge in the operation and maintenance of hydrocarbon systems to assist in coordinating and/or troubleshooting daily operations; ability to lead company response during emergency situations.
    • Knowledge in the requirements of applicable local, state and federal regulatory agencies as well as Energy Transfer practices and procedures.
    • Ability to complete assessment of facilities in relation to O&M, H&S and Environmental standards and procedures.
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills addressing and executing solutions to complex problems.
    • Strong understanding of project management techniques with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, priorities, tasks and projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to promote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables.
    • Ability to train and develop staff, provide constructive performance feedback and appraisals and take appropriate corrective action to address performance and conduct issues.
    • Ability to operate as a self-starter with individual drive and initiative to start, develop and complete projects and initiatives.
    • Ability to effectively handle pressures and demands of deadlines and competing priorities.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at various levels of the organization.
    • Ability to establish and maintain constructive and positive working relationships with internal clients and external customers.
    • Will be required to live within 45 minutes of Patterson or Houma locations.

    • Usually, normal office working conditions. 
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing. 
    • Occasional overnight travel may be required. 
    • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
