About the role The Operations Supervisor performs all relevant functions that are essential for the success of Plant operations, environmental compliance and financial reporting: 1) Plans, directs, and reports all activities and operations related to the accurate real-time accounting, auditing, tracking, and reporting of Plant operations through the use of Enviroware and daily production reports, and; 2) Schedules, tracks, manages, and processes waste through the facility. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for functioning on a cost-effective basis within timelines; framework of Company policies and procedures; objectives and budgets established Key Responsibilities Maintains facility environmental compliance by operating within promulgated external and internal rules and regulations. Uses Enviroware to ensure all items being processed in the facility have passed analytical and are approved for disposal. Keeps tracks of and controls all inventory destined for and being processed in the facility. Keeps a manageable inventory of solidification media by ordering it through our multiple vendors and tracking the solidification out as its processed. Schedules routine maintenance for tank farm, heavy equipment and mixing pits. Completes and documents daily inspections of assigned production areas. Coordinates with Field service on a mid-week basis to ensure adequate space in pits for weekend projects. Ensures waste is being tracked, processed and shipped out correlating to its approved disposal. Verifies that all containers and inventory pieces are properly labeled in accordance with HAZCOM requirements and that Reworld bar code tracking labels are affixed. Maintains operating equipment in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and documented inspections; performs routine maintenance and repairs to include pumps, forklifts, excavators, skid steers, hoses, and air monitoring equipment. Develops daily operating plans and schedules outbound loads in line with company production goals and budgets. Has all direct reports trained and certified on all heavy equipment necessary to maintain and operate the pit area. Maintains current training for self and assigned personnel on equipment use, Standard Operating Procedures and health & safety policies; uses Vairkko training database when appropriate. Loads all outbound trailers for landfill, Waste to Energy and AEF in accordance with promulgated DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations. Ensures that assigned personnel are properly qualified, directed and trained to perform their duties effectively. Trains employees on how to properly trace items throughout the facility and track them out using scanner guns and Enviroware. Remains technically competent and identifies potential technologies, procedures or equipment that may enhance employee safety and operational efficiency. Prepares daily production reports and participates in conference calls and Team Meetings as required. Responsible for coordination and supervision of assigned production personnel, including managing Paycom, performance management, coaching, PTO, performance evaluations and discipline when necessary. Maintains facility wide housekeeping. QUALIFICATIONS GED/HS Diploma required, BS degree preferred Previous leadership in a waste facility or recycling plant preferred Demonstrates a strong mechanical ability. Clean driving record and valid state issued Driver’s License. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to perform strenuous physical activity. Requires standing, walking, carrying, stooping, crouching, sitting, grasping, and reaching. May require lifting, pulling and/or pushing up to 25 lbs. Ability to work in both hot and cold (>90-degree F and <32-degree F) environments for extended periods of time. Travel as required.
