Job Overview: Under direction of the Director of Fire and Emergency Services, provide leadership and support of a high visibility Emergency Management Program. Develop and maintain operations and consequence management plan development and facilitation within the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. Supervise a planning team through the execution of a standardized planning process in the development of operational response and recovery planning products. Apply knowledge of emergency management response and recovery programs as well as the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community government's role in response and recovery in coordination with Federal, State, County and local partners. Assist with the research, analysis, and development of information papers, meeting materials, and briefing products as well as facilitating training in the disciplines within the SMSC Public Safety Divisions. Provide incident support during events and incidents to the SMSC Public Safety and Community departments. Adapt to new concepts and staff direction while maintaining a high level of quality for a professional emergency management program. Support the Public Safety Administrator, Director of Fire and Emergency Services and Director of Conservation and Enforcement with communications to the SMSC Government and SMSC Gaming leadership as needed. This position has the ability to facilitate emergency management decision in accordance with the delegation of authority from the SMSC constitution.
