Budget Manager manages and coordinates budgeting activities and the implementation of the organization's budget policies and guidelines. Monitors actual performance against estimates and prepares annual and interim budgets. Being a Budget Manager coordinates budget appropriations and responds to exception requests for funds. Monitors and analyzes performance against budgets. Additionally, Budget Manager implements and supports tools and reporting used for planning, forecasting, monitoring, and decision support. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting. Typically reports to a director. The Budget Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Budget Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Budget Manager provides budget-related reporting and variance reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring accurate financial oversight and accountability. This role supports the team’s direction, initiatives, and ministry efforts to achieve outcomes that further Life.Church’s mission and reach people for Christ.

    The Finance Team partners with the organization to facilitate the financial reporting needs of Life.Church, including payroll, accounts payable, giving operations, accounting, forecasting, and data analytics. We equip the organization with the tools needed to plan for, understand, and steward the resources God has provided for our ministry.

    What You’ll Do
    • Communicate key budget dates and resources to all Central and Campus budget owners on an ongoing basis.
    • Serve as a resource for any budget-related inquiries and provide support as needed.
    • Facilitate reconciliations of operating budgets in the budgeting and accounting systems.
    • Lead through the budget revision process.
    • Lead monthly statement of activity analysis along with other financial statement analysis.
    • Communicate with various teams to understand and explain budget variances.
    • Act as a budget software administrator, ensuring the organization is aware of system usage and updates.


    Skills Needed to Succeed
    • Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions and problem-solve with innovation.
    • Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships.
    • Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects.
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • 1 -3 years of related work experience.
