Branch Review Specialist conducts branch internal audits to determine whether business controls are sufficient and effectively executed in accordance with bank policies and procedures. Tests established procedures to ensure operational efficiency within branch offices. Being a Branch Review Specialist determines whether branches are performing their planning, accounting, custodial, or business control activities in compliance with management instructions, policies, and procedures. Evaluates functions and activities in assigned areas to determine the nature of operations and the adequacy of systems to achieve established objectives. Additionally, Branch Review Specialist recommends corrective actions and improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Branch Review Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • Voyage FCU is looking for a Financial Service Specialist to join our team at our Dawley Farms branch located at 5800 E 18th Street, Sioux Falls, SD! The ideal candidate is self-motivated and productive, enjoys creating relationships with members and staff, and will handle each member interaction with empathy and the utmost professional attitude.


    The Financial Service Specialist is responsible for interviewing applicants for loans, processing various loan applications, gathering background information, analyzing credit history, and referring to authority personnel or approving qualifying loans.


    What You Will Do:

    • Maintain good relations with members, potential members, other employees, volunteers and others visiting or phoning the Credit Union.
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding members’ information and Credit Union practices and procedures.
    • Cross-sell associated services of direct deposit, payroll deduction, certificates, Individual Retirement Accounts, Visa credit cards and other products and services to members as appropriate.
    • Responsible for the preparation and accuracy of all documents, papers and disclosures required for opening of any type of account, handling them with members.
    • Interview loan applicants, process information, prepare and secure necessary documents. Complete loan closings and disbursals according to Credit Union policies and procedures. Explain reasons for denial, if needed, and explore alternative options for members.
    • Secure loan documents and signatures to protect any liens, notes and security agreements.
    • Approve loan applications according to the policies and lending limits set by the Board of Directors.
    • Complete required loan and sales reports.
    • Has same responsibilities as a Member Service Representative and ability to assist in a relief or temporary capacity.
    • Handle member inquiries on accounts, Credit Union products and services in a satisfactory manner
    • Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness and security of work area, including property, equipment, records, member documents, negotiable instruments, etc.

    Wage:

    $17-19.50/hr, plus monthly incentive pay

    $1 pay differential on Saturdays


    Schedule:

    • Monday through Friday from 7:45am – 4:15pm or 9am – 5:30pm
    • Rotating Saturdays from 8:45am-12:15pm

    • High school diploma/GED required, plus additional education equivalent to 2-year degree. Minimum of two years applicable experience highly preferred.
    • Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to communicate and present effectively in person and over the phone.
    • Must become proficient in the online banking products and services that Voyage FCU offers.
    • Continually exhibit good judgment and ensure that a high knowledge level of credit union operations is maintained, and member’s information is protected at all times.
