Medical Lab Scientist

Responsibilities:

• Conduct moderate to high complexity clinical laboratory assays.
• Interpret and report test results to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and testing issues effectively.
• Perform and review quality control and preventive maintenance.
• Perform established tests and procedures under supervision.
• Evaluate the validity of results obtained from testing.
• Adapt to varying workloads and assigned duties as needed.
• Perform duties in areas such as Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, RIA/Serology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Microbiology.
• Accurately report results and carry out other assigned duties.
• Conduct lists and studies for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Qualifications:

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
• 4 years/bachelor's degree (if Medical Lab Scientist)
• 2 years/associate's degree (if Medical Lab Technologist)
• Completion of a Clinical Laboratory Science program.
• Eligibility to test for ASCP certification (certification not required at hiring).

Experience:

• 1 to 2 years of experience as a Medical Lab Scientist or Medical Lab Technician.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
Ideal candidate would be an experienced Medical Lab Scientist. We would accept a Medical Lab Technician (Associate's), but either way, the candidate must have completed a Clinical Laboratory Science program. Must be eligible to test for ASCP.
