Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has considerable experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. Clark College has an opening for part-time English department faculty in the BEECH (Basic Education, English, Communications and Humanities) unit. We welcome applicants with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds in a campus climate that provides active-based and equitably designed opportunities for student learning, respecting what all learners bring to our community. This includes but is not limited to race, ethnicity, religion, ability, age, gender, and sexual orientation. Primary teaching responsibilities include pre-college and college level composition, technical writing, and literature courses, depending on division needs and instructor’s background. This position requires the use of a variety of instructional modalities, including both in-person and online, and extensive use of technology.
This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening or weekend hours. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

- Effectively use computer applications for instruction and communication where appropriate
- Demonstrate knowledge of the mission of the College, its student population, and educational goals
- Maintain department curriculum standards
- Master's Degree or higher in English (or related discipline).
- Postsecondary experience teaching composition
- Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
