    Selectee(s) will report to an assigned DOL office location on a regular basis and be eligible for telework as determined by agency policy. This is not a remote position. Offices are located in Washington, DC; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; San Francisco, CA. For specific locations, see: DOL offices.     Major duties include but are not limited to:

    • Provide technical support to end-users in the Department of Labor, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and resolving network connectivity problems.
    • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software, including operating systems, productivity software, and specialized applications.
    • Monitor and maintain the security of computer systems and networks, including implementing security policies and procedures, and conducting regular security audits.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for IT systems and procedures, including user manuals, technical specifications, and system diagrams.
    • Collaborate with other IT professionals to design and implement new systems and technologies, and to improve existing systems and processes.
    • Monitor and maintain system backups and disaster recovery procedures, including testing backup systems and restoring data in the event of a system failure.
    • Participate in IT projects and initiatives, including planning, implementation, and testing, and provide technical expertise and support to project teams.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment pursuing a baccalaureate or graduate degree at least half-time.

    • Upon completion of requirements for graduation and successful completion of the PSS program requirements, you may be eligible for non-competitive conversion, at the agency's discretion, to a career or career-conditional appointment.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications for the GS-07:

    1. Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education. (An academic year of graduate education is the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 academic year of full-time study, if not defined by school, then (18 semester or 27 quarter hours will be used.

    2. Completion of a Bachelor's Degree with Superior Academic Achievement (defined below)

    Superior Academic Achievement: Superior academic achievement (SAA) recognizes individuals who have achieved superior academic standing. S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. Class standing - Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. Grade-point average (G.P.A.)- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: a.3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or .3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B " or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.

    Students may be non-competitively converted to a career or career-conditional appointment upon successful completion of an academic program; complete 640 hours of continuous employment; meet OPM qualifications for the position converted to; and meet time-in-grade requirements.
