Assistant Retail Store Manager - Museum jobs in New York

Responsibilities:

Assists the director with the day-to-day operations of the museum. Specific duties vary throughout the year. Responsibilities include aiding with exhibit preparation and installation, programs and events set-up and support, volunteer coordination, collections organization, and assisting in marketing and membership tasks. Other duties may be assigned by the director as necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

General:

· Understand and utilize best practices for museums

· Strong communication, writing, and research skills

· Ability to work cooperatively with the director, staff, volunteers, and community members

· Ability to work independently on a range of projects

· Excellent work ethic and high level of professionalism

· Flexibility concerning work duties and the changing nature of work

· Ability to multi-task and handle challenging situations

· Ability to help set up events and programs

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred

· Museum experience preferred

· Valid Driver’s License

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

· Ability in Adobe (Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator) and Past Perfect museum software beneficial

Flexible schedule (12 - 20 hrs)

Pay: $17- 18 per hr

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
