Appraiser (Commercial Real Estate) conducts commercial real estate appraisals and property ratings to establish the market value generally used for investment guidance, lending, insurance, or other purposes. Follows standard processes for conducting and documenting on-site property inspections. Being an Appraiser (Commercial Real Estate) performs data collection and research on building permits, prior assessments, and relevant market and economic conditions that impact property value. Reviews building plans and specifications and investigates the quality of the construction, the overall condition of the property, and the surrounding location. Additionally, Appraiser (Commercial Real Estate) uses generally accepted appraisal practice concepts and practices to perform data analysis, develop valuation estimates, and write comprehensive reports and exhibits. Utilizes appraisal software tools and databases. Ensures that reports comply with required policies, formats, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. May require the Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) or similar designation. Requires a State Appraiser License. Typically reports to a manager. The Appraiser (Commercial Real Estate) work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. This front-office position is the go-to person who forms the backbone of their office. Applicants should possess excellent communication and people skills. They must be willing to deal with multiple tasks in a day and be able to semi-independently problem solve. Applicants should be well versed on windows based PC’s and should be proficient in the current version of MS Office applications such as word, excel and power point. They should be prepared to conduct a hands on computer skills assessment during the interview process. Applicants must dress and speak appropriately for an office environment and have some experience in customer service.
The ideal candidate is a friendly, well-dressed person who enjoys customer service based interactions. He/she has worked in the real estate industry (or a related one) for 2 years, a font-office position for 2 years or has the training/schooling equivalent. The ideal candidate does not have an active real estate license or is willing to put their license in an in-active status.
LRE administrators are W2 salaried employees who enjoy a regular, fixed salary, a voluntary 401(k) plan with an aggressive company match, and an optional group health plan that includes medical, dental, vision, life & disability insurance. This position is 15 hours a week (M-W-F from 9-3 w/ a 1 hour lunch).
