St. Martin Parish Library is seeking a creative, service oriented and collaborative professional to lead the Library’s successful community programming and public relations efforts for all our branch locations and throughout the Parish. As a valued member of the management team, this position plans, coordinates, facilitates and publicizes comprehensive programming that is educational, entertaining and enriching for our library users from preschool through adults.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· MLS from an ALA accredited program
· History of successful library experience
· Demonstrated leadership skills
· Previous experience in planning and conducting programs for children, teens and adults
· Computer/technology skills
· Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· BA/BS degree
· Three plus years public library experience including programming for adults and children
· Writing skills including press releases, grants, publicity and reports
· Demonstrated knowledge of children’s and young adult materials
· Excellent communication skills and effective working relationships with coworkers, parents, government and school officials
· Demonstrated experience creating promotional material relevant to Library programs
· Budget experience
· Clean 5 year driving record
