Annuities Retention Specialist coordinates with service representatives and clients to assist with retaining the client's annuity business. Provides knowledge and expertise to clients in order to meet their financial goals and to clearly understand various options that are available with annuities. Being an Annuities Retention Specialist reviews surrender requests and contacts clients to re-engage and identify opportunities for additional sales. Makes recommendations to product line management to improve service and design of products that encourage client retention. Additionally, Annuities Retention Specialist requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Annuities Retention Specialist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     The individual in this position must be able to make complex decisions with authority and understand the risk, liability and implications that could impact NODA, the University, and constituents / stakeholders.

    This is a %, 12-months Civil Service appointment (classification CD, Marketing & Communications Pro 2-Community Relations).

    JOB DUTIES :

    Membership Recruitment (40%) :

    • Provide vision, oversight and support of all membership, volunteer management, sponsorship and grant initiatives ensuring they support the NODA mission and strategic priorities
    • Working with the Membership Engagement Committee plan and implement a NODA membership campaign to sustain current members and grow the total base in the United States and abroad
    • Develop, analyze, and maintain reports and updates to be presented to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors

    Membership Engagement (40%) :

    • Oversee volunteer engagement to include (volunteer training programs, training protocol and implementation), that align with the Association’s strategic priorities
    • Plan and implement communication strategy to engage NODA members in NODA Connect (NODA’s online resource)
    • Implement the membership strategies identified by the Board of Directors
    • Oversee the development of NODA Communities with active involvement focusing on community engagement and partnership

    Corporate Relations & Grants (20%) :

    • Working with the Fundraising Committee develop a yearly fundraising plan with goals and expectations including donations, sponsorship, and grants
    • Develop a 3-year plan for outreach and sustainability that includes fundraising goals
    • Build and maintain quality relationships with NODA Associate Members and corporate partners
    • Secure sponsorship and grants to support NODA programming and administration

    This position will require occasional travel (i.e. NODA Annual Conference, student affairs conferences, Regional Conferences, staff retreat), on overnight trips to attend events and flexibility to conduct work on evenings and weekends (approximately 5-10% travel required).

    This position will be remote with the expectation to meet in-person with Association staff as required.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, associations, or other related areas
    • Minimum of two years of full-time experience working in an association or non-profit
    • Ability to be self-directed and work autonomously daily with capability to multi-task, make critical decisions and work with a variety of people and personalities
    • Demonstrated ability to make complex decisions, problem solve and work with volunteers
    • Previous experience with volunteer management, membership, and sponsorship with demonstrated organizational skills and attention to details
    • Ability to be a team player and work with volunteers either by leading or taking direction
    • Strong communication skills both oral and written
    • Commitment to diversity and inclusive excellence
    • Occasional travel (5-10%)

    • Association management experience
    • Experience working with and directing volunteer leadership
    • Ability to work and communicate across organizational programs and priorities
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with various constituencies, including diverse populations
    • Proven effectiveness at group / team member environment
