Join us as a Director of Facilities & Engineering at AstraZeneca, where you will play a strategic role in the overall performance of site infrastructure. This includes capital program delivery, facility and production engineering, facility maintenance, and support services. As a leader on the Site Leadership Team, you will be instrumental in delivering Site objectives and strategies, ensuring a cohesive Business Services model through collaboration with other site’s Business Services leaders.
The Philadelphia, PA site produces a life-saving influenza vaccine, which is aseptically filled into sprayers for nasal administration. This site comprises two locations: a production facility on Red Lion Road in Northeast Philadelphia and a storage and distribution facility in Bensalem. Together, these facilities employ around 140 people and are located about 8 miles apart, near I-95, the city of Philadelphia, and Philadelphia International Airport. Our product is distributed in the US, UK, and other countries. We operate year-round, with the production season typically running from May to August. Our site is known for its strong sense of collaboration and Philly pride. We work closely together, continuously striving for improvement. We have various employee teams dedicated to engagement activities, including our famous Wingbowl, inclusion events, site celebrations, community outreach, and health and wellness programs.
What you will do:
Lead. develop and transform a multi-level, multi-disciplined organization.
Set short- and long-term strategic direction for the site Engineering and FM program
Empower and enable the team to drive and deliver Site business objectives.
Accountable for the ownership and performance of the entire site infrastructure and facility management program. This includes grounds, building exterior, interior, asset reliability, utility systems, reliability programs, calibration, energy management, space management, services provided through in-house & contracted resources, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of 10 years experience in engineering, facilities, and/or related technical management
Knowledge of cGMP & cGLP environments and related facilities requirements
Effective ability to coach, empower, and develop team
Experience with driving transformative change throughout an organization or function
Demonstrated ability leading and managing CapEx portfolio, strategy, and budget
Ability to effectively build relationships with as well as manage internal and external stakeholders.
Good understanding of Safety, Health, and Environment programs as related to facility operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Training or experience in formulation, packaging, aseptic operations, warehouse, and related facilities
Advanced Degree, professional certification
Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment.
Controls/automation experience
Multiple Site or cross-functional experience
Advanced knowledge of compliance requirements
